The Video Game Website Launches - Image 1Sega has just launched the official website of their upcoming game, Iron Man, based on the movie that’s set to come out this year.

The website launch has most of the previous media released for the game, including screenshots and concept art.

The site contains info on the motion picture as well as the game. For now though, the site only has one character profile up for viewing (guess who).

The website has a new trailer on its main page which you can view by following the link below. It’s not as good as the pre-rendered graphics of the movie trailers of course, but then movies don’t allow you the interactive experience of tearing up a heavily armored tank.

Iron Man (Personal computer, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, DS) is slated to come out this May 2, as confirmed by the website. The motion picture will be released a few days before the game.

Steam update - Audiosurf and Half-Life 1: Source Deathmatch - Image 1Good news to faithful fans of Audiosurf and the original Half-Life! Steam has just updated both features recently. Both updates will sure be able to improve your gaming experience.

The update on Audiosurf will be easily applied once the Steam client is restarted. Included in this update are the addition of news to the preload screen, several textures that are now moddable, and Radio Browser web links.

In addition to this, the Source Deathmatch for HL1 have been updated as well. Just like Audiosurf, changes to the game will be implemented when the client is restarted. Here’s are some of the updates that were made:

  • Fixed a very common HL1MP crash bug in the gauss gun
  • Fixed missing flesh_break1.wav file (used a physics sound from hl2)
  • Made zoom_sensitivity_ratio default to 0.3
  • If mp_teamplay is 0, report “Deathmatch” to master server instead of “Teamplay”
  • Fixed busted mp_teamlist using ; as a separator which can’t be typed into the console
  • Tracks team scores with mp_teamplay 1 so mp_fraglimit causes round to end correctly
  • Fixed game_text (and hud messages in general) not showing up

Sony Vaio logo - Image 1Laptop users are most likely familiar with how their laptop PCs are sold with lots of mostly unneeded software pre-installed. Luckily, Sony started to offer a Fresh Begin option for those who didn’t want any software extras installed in their new Vaio laptops. Basically, choosing Fresh Start option will make Sony ship your laptop free of extra applications, trial software, and games.

However, there was a bit of a snag when the Fresh Begin option initially became available. Apparently, Sony charged US 50 from those who opted to get their Vaio laptops free of extra programs and trial software.

While this makes no sense at first glance - after all, why pay to have software removed, when they can just not install it in the first place - considering the possibility that Sony gets paid by software companies to install their trial software as a likely advertising move, the fee for the Fresh Begin option is just an attempt to possibly recoup losses.

There’s an unexpected surprise, however. As it turns out, Engadget contacted Sony about the Fresh Start charge, and the Sony spokesperson they managed to reach said that Sony Japan was surprised about the US 50 fee, and asked to have it removed immediately.

Will this mean that there will be refunds to those who have shelled out bucks for the Fresh Begin option? Only time will tell, when the fee removal takes effect. Anticipate more updates for this news.
