Byron asks critics to move in on the debate of video game violence

Dr. Tanya Byron, the outspoken critic of the video game violence whose name recently surfaced after her government supported Byron Review was published, had a few words for other critics in the gaming scene.
Known for supporting parent awareness concerning game ratings, she also wants the opinionated folks to “stop panicking, get a grip, move on in the debate and just be sensible about who plays what at what age, and what’s appropriate.”
Byron stressed out the importance of allowing the public to learn about content of games, saying:
I think [ELSPA] is concerned about the BBFC and I comprehend that, and I saw Paul Jackson yesterday and we talked about it. The reason I phrased my recommendation in the way that I did is that I emphasised a period of public consultation, and I emphasised a lot in the media that during that period the industry very much needs to be talking about how these suggestions can be implemented in a way that works for the industry as well, because that’s really important.
