Panasonic to introduce plasma screen technology on cell phones
Posted by: admin in Mobile News
First that comes to mind when plasma display is mentioned is a gigantic high-definition TV. Panasonic intends to change that with the introduction of a new low-voltage plasma technology that mobile phones will soon employ - a move that’ll eventually unify the HDTV and cell phone divisions of the company.
Costly HDTVs are going to be much more intimate with cell phones by sharing state-of-the-art screens.
Mark Balsama, former National Marketing Manager of the Communication Systems Group for Panasonic, rolled up his sleeves from retirement to spearhead this development. Panasonic will gain aid with the help of AbleComm Inc. which will lend its technology after handing out the KX-TVS50 voicemail for Panasonic over 10 years ago.
During his announcement, Balsama was quoted saying:
Many of our new phones will have vibrant color plasma screens that can run on just 1.5 volts and won’t require any additional wiring or special power supplies. We’ll be able to put plasma in cell phones, business phones, consumer phones, corded phones, cordless phones, and even door intercom monitors and fax machines. We’ll revolutionize the consumer electronics business, as Panasonic has done many times before.
