If you’re the type of person whose lifestyle is dependent on your laptop, you probably have to deal with some level of paranoia that it might get stolen.
Here’s some good news for you. Intel is developing new anti-theft technology for laptops, which they will release by the fourth quarter of this year.
There’s a kind of a downside though. The anti-theft technology isn’t designed to prevent the theft; only to protect your personal data within the laptop’s memory banks. The technology is designed to lock the system and the disk in the event of your laptop being stolen or lost.
At the least though, you’ll know that even if your laptop is in the wrong hands, the data inside isn’t. The technology is designed to render both the laptop’s processor and storage inaccessible.
Just how this technology will work is still under wraps. Intel will be releasing more info on it once it’s release nears. Hopefully, the tech will be able to keep pesky siblings from trying to mess around with your data.

Race Driver: GRID (Xbox 360, PS3, DS, Personal computer) is Codemasters latest installment to the TOCA Touring Automobile series. The game will be released this June, and in anticipation of this, Codemasters has released the first in a series of developer diary videos.
In this first video, the game’s designer Ralph Fulton speaks about the game’s features, set alongside several awesome clips from the game. Fulton also speaks of the game’s engine, Ego, which is based on the engine Codemasters used for Colin McRae: Dirt.
Probably the best part about the video is where Fulton talks about the game’s improved crashes and deformation system for vehicles (with matching clips of course). Here’s the video:

Violent video games are really taking the heat, especially from legislators. It seems that countless numbers of bills are filed one after another to curb its effects on society, especially on the innocent.
Since it’s one pressing matter, horror author Stephen King finally has spoken his mind regarding it. As for the house bill that was legislated by Massachusetts that will regard violent games as porn, King remains doubtful that it will remain as a law.
As for the whole hubbub happening with the nation and violent video games, King had a mouthful to say about it. He said:
What really makes me insane is how eager politicians are to use the pop culture not just videogames but Television, movies, even Harry Potter as a whipping boy. It’s easy for them, even sort of fun, because the pop-cult always hollers nice and loud. Also, it grants legislators to ignore the elephants in the living room.
Elephant One is the ever-deepening divide between the haves and have-nots in this country, a situation guys like Fiddy and Snoop have been indirectly rapping about for years. Elephant Two is America’s nearly pathological love of guns.
It was too simple for critics to claim falsely, it turned out that Cho Seung-Hui (the Virginia Tech killer) was a fan of Counter-Strike; I just wish to God that legislators were as eager to point out that this nutball had no problem obtaining a 9mm semiautomatic handgun.
Cho used it in a rampage that resulted in the murder of 32 people. If he’d been stuck with nothing but a plastic videogame gun, he wouldn’t even have been able to kill himself. Case closed.
Well stated, Stephen. How ’bout you guys? Got anything to state on the matter? We’re sure you have a lot, too. Join in the discussion over at the comments section.

A few months ago, THQ made it known that they were planning to develop the movie WALL-E into a video game. Well, this is definitely taking shape through the efforts of Heavy Iron Studios. In a video interview, production director Keith Pope divulges information on what we can anticipate from the upcoming game.
The game’s generally going to be based from the movie itself. In order to bring out that distinct movie-feel, Pope stated that they incorporated “big moments and small nuggets” from the film into the game. To enhance what the game has to offer, players can utilize both WALL-E and EVE. There will be times wherein the two have to work in tandem to solve the problems.
Pope stated that the game is set to be released on June 24, 2008. It will also be released for various platforms such as the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, DS, PC, MAC, and PSP. Surely, with such a large release, it won’t be hard getting a copy of the game.
More juicy news can be obtained by watching the video below. All you’ve to do is just press play to care about. We’ll be bringing you guys more news and updates on the adventures of the small but reliable WALL-E.

It’s only been a day or two since the announcement of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II, but it has us all excited, mostly because we know that announcements such as these bring out new media. Thankfully, we weren’t disappointed, as Relic Entertainment and THQ have released the debut trailer for their game.
In this swift video, you’ll see a human with a warhammer fighting a giant armored orc-thing. Yeah, we’re not sure what that monstrosity is, but we know that we ought to be siding with the human. In any case, the debut trailer features their wonderfully gruesome, though short, fight, ending with a big deathblow that makes us all tingly inside.
Without further ado, here’s the video. Keep checking QJ for more updates regarding this game.
