Here’s some good news for the European Sins of a Solar Empire fans who have been patiently waiting for Sins to make its presence known outside of digital downloads and individually shipped orders. We’ve just found out that Stardock has signed an agreement with Kalypso Media to bring the game to Europe.
According to the news release we’ve picked up, the game is set for release in Europe some time in late Might or early June. Sins of a Solar Empire will retail for 29.99, otherwise known as 39.99 Euro or US 60. The game will apparently also come with some extras, namely six exclusive maps, a techtree poster, and a more comprehensive manual.
In any event, it’s time to celebrate! Feel free to drop your comments of satisfaction here, and enjoy the knowledge that Europe will be getting ready to Sin in a month’s time.

It seems like fishes still aren’t biting in the fishing hole that is known as Take-Two Interactive. Despite giving the company an extension to its new tender offer to acquire Take Two, it seems that Electronic Arts still won’t be getting their hands on the Grand Theft Auto creators any time soon.
After receiving the newly revised offer, Take Two chairman Strauss Zelnick criticized EA’s actions saying it was once again undervaluing their company. During the current stockholders meeting, the board of directors unanimously determined that the offer was “inadequate and contrary to the ideal interests of Take Two’s stockholders”.
EA has currently accumulated 6.4 million shares, roughly equivalent to around 8.3 percent shares. Due to the new lower offer forwarded by EA, the stockholders voted to award a further 1.5 million shares to ZelnickMedia instead.
Zelnick mentioned that despite the poor offer from EA, the board is determined to explore other strategic alternatives to help maximize stockholder value. There were even reports of other parties expressing interest in buying the company’s shares, with formal discussions to start following the launch of Grand Theft Auto 4 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3).

Electronic Arts has decided to extend its Friday deadline for Take-Two Interactive to accept its buy offer worth US 2 billion. The Grand Theft Auto 4 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) publisher now has until Might 16 to accept the deal, but at a lower bid rate.
EA’s bid has dipped from a high of US 27 per share to US 26.74. The offer value was reduced following stock holder approval of a stock incentive plan.
Business analysts say that EA may still raise its offer yet again by a dollar or two depending on how sales of Take-Two’s Grand Theft Auto 4 stack up. The game is expected to rack up 5 million units in the first two weeks off shelves.
EA is currently the world’s biggest third-party video game publisher, and it hopes to remain on top amidst challenges from rivals like Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft, and more. If it can acquire Take-Two, the publisher’s throne is pretty much secure.
Analysts warn, however, that EA cannot overbid for the acquisition of Take-Two. Analyst Todd Mitchell says EA has a big revenue mark, but its earning figures are pretty low. We can expect the two publishers to play this one by ear in the next few weeks.
The Grand Theft Auto franchise isn’t the only thing of great value in EA’s bid to acquire Take-Two. Pulling this off will eliminate competing sports titles from Take-Two’s 2K Sports division.

Activision’s Call of Duty 4 (Personal computer, PS3, Xbox 360) exceeded over nine million sales worldwide since its launch, according to the latest figures presented by the NPD group.
As massive a figure as that sounds, perhaps even more ludicrous would be the status on CoD4’s downloadable content. Robert Bowling further notes that the newly released Variety Map Pack had clocked in over one million downloads for the first nine days.
In line with this, XBL players reportedly logged in over 30 million sessions, totalling over 30 million hours of gameplay for he same time period. Take note that these numbers are just for CoD4’s pack on the Xbox 360.
The Variety Map Pack’s PSN port isn’t expected to hit North America until April 24 for a price of US 9.99. On a related note, the Europe release has been pushed back from May 1 to May 4. Check back with us again the event of any further related news.
