Alan Wake not scheduled for any showings yet - Image 1It seems there’s been a bit of miscommunication regarding Remedy’s upcoming game Alan Wake (Xbox 360, PC). Contrary to an earlier report about the game heading to the Tokyo Game Show, some clarification has been given and it states that there aren’t any plans as of yet for the game to head to any shows.

Over on the Alan Wake forums, MarkusRMD explained it thus:

The Microsoft Vista promotion referring to TGS took place in 2007, and is old news - we’ve had the winner over for taking the pictures already.

Sorry for the confusion and possible disappointment, but this wasn’t an annoucement (sic) that Wake would be shown at TGS 2008. Remedy’s team is just getting back from a bit of holiday and we haven’t had time to chat with Microsoft on upcoming shows/showings yet.

This being the case, it doesn’t completely rule out the possibility of Alan Wake getting a showing at an upcoming convention or press conference. It simply means that they haven’t gotten around to discussing when to show off the game.

Fallout 3 - Image 1Last week at E3 unveiled, among many other intriguing things, the exclusive downloadable content for Bethesda’s Fallout 3 on the Xbox 360 and the Personal computer. But where oh where was PS3’s slice of the pie?

Nowhere in sight, you get it right. Lazard Capital Market’s analyst Colin Sebastian smartly observes and posits that it could be that Microsoft paid a big lot to Bethesda so that the PS3 won’t get a share in the DLC.

I think it’s a very good possibility that Microsoft and Bethesda were partners in this decision. Obviously, Microsoft paid up to secure exclusive on the web content for GTA IV, and on the internet is a cornerstone for Microsoft’s digital media strategy.

Despite this obvious speculation, however, Bethesda remains mum on what really led them to award exclusively the Fallout 3 DLC to the Microsoft platforms. “We aren’t going to get into the details of the hows and whys,” Bethesda marketing boss Pete Hines stated via email. Further more, there will be no “other qualifiers or clarifications as it relates to the other platforms.”

Bethesda’s Fallout 3 will be coming out on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC this fall.
